
National Pharmacovigilance Week – 2023

Program Details
National Pharmacovigilance Week was conducted on 17.09.2023 by the Department of Pharmacology, SIMS & RH, in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission with the aim of creating awareness regarding Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting, patient safety, and the importance of Pharmacovigilance among healthcare students and professionals.
The program was organized successfully with enthusiastic participation from MBBS students, faculty members, and dignitaries.
The program commenced with an introduction delivered by Dr. Sparshdeep E M, who explained the significance of Pharmacovigilance and the need for ADR monitoring in improving patient safety and healthcare quality. The event was graced by the presence of Chairman Hulinaykar, HR and IT Patil Sir, and Dr. Raman Hulinaykar, who motivated students to actively participate in awareness activities and highlighted the importance of safe and rational use of medicines.
As part of the celebration, a poster competition was organized for MBBS students on themes related to Pharmacovigilance, ADR reporting, medication safety, and patient care. Students presented creative and informative posters to spread awareness regarding the importance of reporting adverse drug reactions and ensuring medication safety in clinical practice.
The event created awareness among students regarding the role of healthcare professionals in promoting patient safety and rational use of medicines. The program concluded successfully with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Rajesh B, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and students for making the event successful.
