National Pharmacovigilance Week was conducted on 17.09.2022 by the Department of Pharmacology in association with the Pharmacovigilance Committee with the objective of creating awareness regarding Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting, patient safety, and the importance of National Pharmacovigilance among healthcare students.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from MBBS students and faculty members. As part of the celebration, various awareness activities and competitions were organized to educate students about safe and rational use of medicines.

A poster competition was conducted on themes related to Pharmacovigilance, medication safety, ADR reporting, and patient care. The students displayed innovative and informative posters highlighting the importance of monitoring and reporting adverse drug reactions in clinical practice.

A role play competition was also organized where MBBS students presented different real-life clinical scenarios involving medication errors, ADR identification, patient counseling, and proper reporting procedures.

The performances were informative, interactive, and created awareness among the audience regarding the role of healthcare professionals in ensuring patient safety. Faculty members conducted an awareness session emphasizing the significance of Pharmacovigilance, methods of ADR reporting, and the responsibilities of healthcare professionals in promoting drug safety.

The students actively participated and gained valuable knowledge about Pharmacovigilance practices. The National Pharmacovigilance Week 2022 program was conducted successfully and effectively enhanced awareness, communication skills, teamwork, and understanding of patient safety among MBBS students.
