Program Details
World Smart Medication Day was celebrated on 05.05.2023 by the Department of Pharmacology with the aim of creating awareness among MBBS students regarding the importance of pharmacology in medical practice and patient care.
The program was organized successfully in the presence of faculty members, dignitaries, and students. The event began with a warm welcome and introduction of the guest speaker by Dr. Chaithra K N. The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Manjunath G N, Vice Principal, HOD & Professor, Department of Pharmacology, and SSMC Tumkuru. During the lecture, he explained the importance of rational use of medicines, recent advancements in pharmacology, adverse drug reaction monitoring, and the role of Medication in ensuring patient safety.
The session was highly informative, interactive, and beneficial for MBBS students. The guest speaker was felicitated by Dr. Shashikiran, HOD & Professor, Department of Community Medicine, Dr. Suresh Goggi, Professor of Microbiology,.
Faculty members from various departments were also present for the occasion and encouraged students to actively participate in academic and awareness activities. MBBS students attended the program enthusiastically and actively participated in the discussion session and presented posters on Medication safety & Errors.
The poster competition was judged by Dr. Priyadarshini Bai G, HOD & Professor, Department of Pharmacology, SMCRI, and Tumkuru. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sparshdeep E M, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and students for making the event successful.
